Why settle for MP3 audio files when you can buy high definition FLACs files ("free lossless audio code", rich in all of the technical nuances that jazz artists spend years learning to master) for the same
price? It is no secret that MP3 audio files are missing audio information from the original recordings. MP3 audio files are compressed to produce smaller file sizes to reduce download time and facilitate streaming. Although there may be little noticeable difference with much of today's popular music, jazz artists spend years mastering many of the technical nuances
routinely discarded by this compression process. Because physical CDs contain audio files (e.g., WAVs) generally considered too large for downloading, FLAC files were developed to facilitate downloading without loss of audio information. Although still larger than MP3s, FLAC files are about half the size of standard WAV files. While they take a little longer to download and
require additional disk space than MP3s, most jazz fans believe that FLACs are well worth the effort. Some jazz fans even equate shopping for jazz at a giant download store to going to a fast food restaurant for gourmet truffles (i.e., the vegetable, not the chocolate, although chocolate truffles are pretty good too). As you would expect, many of our customers

| Artist Spotlight - George Spanos |
George Spanos (b. 1979), originally from Greece, is an internationally acclaimed drummer who is based in New York City. He started taking piano lessons at the age of eight, continuing at the age of fourteen with his studies of modern drums and
percussion. Recent New York highlights Spanos has performed with world-renowned composer-saxophonist John Zorn, Erik Friendlander, Ikue Mori, Uri Gurvich, Ken Thomson, Jad Atoui, Ty Citerman, Chuck Bettis, Eyal Maoz, and others. Spanos has appeared in concert
and jazz festivals as a guest in Europe, United States and Canada. His versatile background and education, enabled him to perform as a classical percussionist with world-renowned orchestras (Symphony Orchestra of Iasi) and known Greek music ensembles and singers (Marinella, Dionysis Savvopoulos, Zorz Pilali and others) at the most famous Greek venues (Megaron Mousikis-Athens Concert Hall, Ancient Agora, Half Note Jazz Club, Pallas Theater, and Thessaloniki Concert
Hall). His first personal recording, Jungle of Illusions, which he co-arranged, co-produced, composed and recorded the drums/percussion with Yiannis Kassetas (sax, arranger,composer, producer) released by Puzzlemusik in Europe and by Blue Truffle Music label in the United States, received great critical acclaim.
