April 18th - Record Store Day - Despite the proliferation of online resources (e.g., artist bios, composer/liner notes, links to jazz artist websites in the Blue Truffle Music Store, there is no substitute for the live jazz connoisseurs who have been providing private jazz listening guidance to customers at brick and mortar CD stores.  While we love all 700 record stores in the U.S.A., a couple of our favorites are listed below.

Located in downtown Princeton, NJ, the independently-owned Princeton Record Exchange features a large selection of new and used jazz CDs, DVDs and vinyl records, including a full selection of Blue Truffle jazz albums.

Kassetas-Spanos- JUNGLE OF ILLUSIONS

Features a fusion of Eastern textures and modal harmonies composed and performed by Yiannis Kassetas and George Spanos, accompanied by several of the finest jazz musicians in Greece.  Saxophoinist, composer and arranger Yiannis Kassetas is back in Athens, Greece after recent tours to the United States and Puerto Rico.  Drummer, composer and arranger George Spanos recently from Athens to New York City where he regularly performs with John Zorn, Juni Booth, and many other NYC jazz artists.

Carl Clements - FORTH AND BACK
FORTH and BACK features nine original compositions for jazz quartet by progressive jazz performer Carl Clements (saxophones, flute and Indian flute). 

As one of today's most active saxophonists, Carl regularly performs jazz and world music in jazz clubs and festivals throughout the U.S., Europe and Asia.

As the house pianist at the prestigous Jefferson Hotel in Washington, DC for the past 6+ years, pianist, composer, and performer Peter B. Since 2010 the New Brunswick Jazz Project has been making Central Jersey a destination for great jazz by bringing world-renowned veteran musicians and emerging talent to local venues every week.  The New Brunswick Jazz Project celebrated its 5th year anniversary with a party featuring the Mark Gross Quintet at the New Brunwsick Hyatt on April 11.  At this party, co-founder Virginia DeBerry was awarded with a Jazz Heroine award by the Jazz Journalists Association for her outstanding contributions to the jazz community.
